The Ryder Cup explained
Europe against the USA, every two years, twelve players a side, three days of match play. The next one is at Adare Manor in Ireland, 17–19 September 2027.
The format

- Every match is worth one point; a halved match is half a point each.
- 14½ points wins the cup outright. At 14–14 the holders keep it.
- Foursomes: two players, one ball, alternate shots.
- Fourballs: two players, each with their own ball; the better score counts on each hole.
2027 at Adare Manor
The 46th Ryder Cup is at Adare Manor, County Limerick, the first in Ireland since 2006. Luke Donald captains Europe for a third match in a row, after winning in 2023 and 2025. Jim Furyk captains the USA for a second time, after 2018.
