Padel in the UK
Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in Britain, with new courts opening at tennis clubs, leisure centres and dedicated padel venues. The LTA runs the sport here.
Who runs it
The LTA has been the governing body for padel in Great Britain since 2019. It runs the national rankings and tournaments, and supports clubs building courts.
Finding a court
- Tennis clubs: many have converted a tennis court or added padel courts beside them.
- Dedicated venues: indoor padel centres have opened in and around most big cities.
- Booking apps: most venues take bookings online, and some apps let you find players to make up a four.
Most venues hire out rackets and sell balls, so you can try it before buying anything.
Watching the pros
The professional tour is Premier Padel, with events around the world, including one in London. Dates and results for every event are on the padel schedule.
